Tracking Ring

I’m Very Happy After Marrying the CEO Husband According to the Agreement

The Tracking Ring is a high-tech device developed by Gu Corporation and presented by Gu Huaian to Shen Tang. Its decisive significance emerges during Shen Tang’s abduction, when the ring remains available after her other means of communication have been taken away and allows the search party to track her location.

Design and Function

The ring contains a built-in tracker, although Shen Tang does not understand how the technology works. Its value lies less in her technical knowledge than in her trust in Gu Huaian: she believes the device will function because he gave it to her. The ring therefore operates simultaneously as equipment and as evidence of a relationship built on reliance. It is an unobtrusive object whose importance becomes visible only when ordinary communication fails.

The ring’s function is especially clear because it contrasts with the restrictions surrounding Shen Tang’s life. Her contract with Gu Huaian includes a Three-Meter Distance Clause requiring her, except in necessary circumstances, not to approach Party A within three meters and prohibiting physical contact. Against these rules of distance, the ring creates a concealed technological connection: Shen Tang may be physically separated from Gu Huaian, but the device can still transmit a path toward her.

Role in the Abduction and Search

During the abduction, Shen Tang’s phones are confiscated, cutting her off from the outside world. The abductors place her in a large warehouse with a small boarded-up window, leaving her without an ordinary channel through which to call for help. At that moment, the Tracking Ring changes from a personal accessory into a survival instrument. Shen Tang touches it and recognizes that the high-tech device may still connect her to Gu Huaian even while the kidnappers control her visible communications.

The timing gives the object an almost ironic force: Gu Huaian had given Shen Tang the ring only the previous night, and by the next day it was already proving its practical worth. Its presence converts the search from a blind attempt to locate a missing person into an operation guided by a moving or stationary signal. Shen Tang wonders when Gu Huaian will realize that she is missing, but the ring has already supplied the material possibility of that realization.

Gu Huaian eventually follows the ring’s positioning signal. The location appears to be farther ahead and remains unmoved for a long time, creating uncertainty over whether Shen Tang is still there or whether the ring has been dropped. The device cannot provide perfect knowledge; its signal gives direction, not an immediate explanation. Yet even this ambiguity demonstrates its importance, because the search team has a concrete lead in an undeveloped deep mountain forest where anything may happen and delay increases Shen Tang’s danger.

Consequences and Meaning

The ring helps sustain the rescue effort while the search party divides into two groups: one escorts the rescued girls back, while the other continues searching for additional victims and pursuing the criminals. In this sequence, the device participates directly in the chain of events. It does not replace the people who search, but it materially alters what they can know and where they can go.

Its narrative meaning also develops through the contrast between visibility and hidden attachment. Shen Tang is a public figure exposed to constant online rumor, company publicity, and hostile attention, yet the ring’s most important work occurs away from public view. The entertainment industry turns her into a marketable scandal by pairing her with male celebrities and exploiting her notoriety, while the ring marks a private and dependable connection that is not produced by publicity. It is a small counterforce to the unstable public identities imposed on her.

The Tracking Ring also embodies the novel’s recurring tension between enforced distance and involuntary closeness. The marriage agreement regulates how near Shen Tang and Gu Huaian may stand and whether they may touch, but the ring allows concern and responsibility to cross that physical boundary. Its signal makes separation legible: the farther Shen Tang is from safety, the more urgently the device’s location matters. In that sense, the ring is both a locator and a measure of attachment, turning an invisible bond into a trace that can be followed through hostile terrain.

Narrative Significance

The object’s importance comes from its transformation. Before the abduction, it can be treated as a newly developed product of Gu Corporation and a gift from Gu Huaian. Once Shen Tang is isolated, however, its material presence becomes conspicuous and consequential. The ring survives the confiscation of her phones, raises the possibility of rescue, guides Gu Huaian’s search, and introduces a crucial uncertainty when its signal stops moving. Its apparent simplicity conceals a capacity to redirect the plot.

The ring therefore links technology, trust, and action. Shen Tang’s faith in Gu Huaian gives her confidence in the device; the device gives Gu Huaian a route toward her; and the resulting search helps turn captivity into the beginning of recovery. Its most memorable function is not sentimental ornament but practical intervention: when human contact and ordinary communication are blocked, the Tracking Ring keeps Shen Tang from becoming entirely unreachable.
